INSPIRED BY VANESSA HALL OF
THEHALLSWAYS ON ETSY

Using multicolored and metallic alcohol inks, students will intuitively paint the outside of a pre-sealed ceramic mug to create a vibrant, functional work of art! Each student may make two mugs during this class.

Since we will only be painting the outside of the mug, these will be 100% safe to drink out of.

Additionally, we will tape off the top 2.5 inches of the mug (where your lips touch) just to be extra safe!

Once the mugs have been painted, we will seal our artwork into the mug with dishwasher safe modge podge so the painting isn't at risk of being scratched!

ABSTRACT
LINEWORK&
INTUITIVE
LAYERS

INSPIRED BY YOMAR AUGUSTO

Yomar Augusto is a  multidisciplinary Brazilian artist who creates unique, large scale abstract paintings that emphasize a variety of lines and vibrant color palettes.

Using large black and white paper, professional high flow acrylic paints, scraping tools, sponges, and large paint brushes, students will create a  multilayered work of art.

Using Yomar's paintings for reference,  we will break down his beautiful,

complex paintings layer by layer. Using an intuitive and heart led approach to this process,  students will bring their paintings come to life layer by layer.

In creative experiences such as this, we are able to push past our creative fear, and truly get a glimpse of our infinite creative potential.

A PROJECT INSPIRED BY   life EXPERIENCES THAT initiate growth

Inspired by the works of talented watercolor artists, we will experiment with a variety of watercolor techniques that help students understand a variety of ways watercolor paints can be used and manipulated.

Students will use these watercolor techniques to create a variety of multicolored, connected "rivers" that each symbolize influential experiences in their lives that have shaped them into the person they are.

In the safe, empowering, judgement free space that our art classes create, students will be supported and encouraged as they bring a work of art to life that is personal to themselves and unique to their life experience

Using multicolored sharpies, neon acrylic paints, oil pastels, and watercolor paint, students will use all of the creative wisdom they acquired during this session to design their own abstract painting/drawing.

We will get inspiration from a variety of abstract painters, illustrators, printmakers, and designers that students can pick and choose different ideas and styles from.

Students will be empowered to experiment and feel what it's like to combine different materials, techniques, and layers into one work of art that we will work on over a two week period.

This is the first part of a two part project! The second part will be completed during the class following this one!
